Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has avoided serious damage to his right wrist after undergoing tests on Monday but the forward could miss some games, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
The tests revealed the 28-year-old suffered a sprained ligament and he will return to the lineup when the pain subsides, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Antetokounmpo injured his wrist on Feb. 16 against the Chicago Bulls after attempting a block and hitting his hand. He was taken out of the game after playing just nine minutes.
The two-time MVP still decided to partake in All-Star Weekend in Salt Lake City. He was selected as the captain opposite LeBron James, and scored the opening bucket of the game before taking a foul and subbing out.
Antetokounmpo has missed 11 games so far this year, most recently missing five consecutive games with a knee injury. He is averaging a career-high 31.8 points, as well as 12.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists this season.
The Bucks are 41-17, half a game behind the league-leading Boston Celtics, and are currently on a league-high 12-game winning streak.
