The Los Angeles Clippers have reportedly promoted assistant general manager Trent Redden to general manager and Mark Hughes to senior VP/assistant GM, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
As per the report, Redden and Hughes will continue to work under the supervision of Lawrence Frank, the president of the LA Clippers.
The departure of Michael Winger, the former general manager of the Clippers, has resulted in these changes. After a six-year stint, Winger left the Clippers two weeks ago to take a position as the president of the Washington Wizards.
Redden has been the assistant general manager for the Clippers since his arrival in 2017. Before his time with the Clippers, he spent 11 years working with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Hughes is a former player who played for the Detroit Pistons in the earlier 1990s. He joined the Clippers along with Redden in 2017. Hughes also previously served as the assistant coach for Orlando Magic and Sacramento Kings earlier in his career.
The Clippers wrapped their 2022-23 with a loss to the Phoenix Suns in the opening round of the playoffs.
