Starting point guard D'Angelo Russell is returning to the Los Angeles Lakers on a new two-year, $37-million contract, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Russell was acquired by the Lakers from the Timberwolves at last season's trade deadline.
He averaged 17.4 points in 17 games with the Lakers, then saw his totals slide slightly in the playoffs to 13.3 as the Lakers reached the Western Conference Final.
Russell, 27, is a one-time all-star.
