Milwaukee Bucks assistant Darvin Ham, Golden State Warriors assistant Kenny Atkinson and former Portland Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts are the finalists for the vacant Los Angeles Lakers head coaching position, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
The Lakers fired head coach Frank Vogel, who helped the team to an NBA title in 2020, in April after they missed the playoffs following a disappointing 33-49 season.
Ham has coached with the Bucks since 2018, and was part of the championship run last season.
Atkinson is currently coaching his first season on the Warriors staff after four seasons as head coach of the Brooklyn Nets from 2016 to 2020.
Stotts coached the Trail Blazers for nine seasons, making the playoffs in his last eight, but was fired and replaced by Chauncey Billups after the team lost in the first round last season. Prior to Portland, Stotts also had head coaching stints with the Bucks and Atlanta Hawks
According to Charania, Ham has made the "strongest impression yet" as the three candidates enter the final round of interviews.
