Dejounte Murray's return to the court could only be days away.
According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, the New Orleans Pelicans star intends to play on Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors.
While The Athletic's Will Guillory reported that Murray is ruled out for Monday evening's clash with the Indiana Pacers — the guard's 17th game in a row on the shelf — he's recently been ramping up activity at practice.
The 2022 NBA All-Star fractured his hand during his Pelicans debut against the Chicago Bulls on Oct. 23. The 28-year-old played 30 minutes and recorded a 14-point, 10-assist double-double in New Orleans' 123-111 win.
The Pelicans acquired Murray in a major off-season trade with the Atlanta Hawks for Dyson Daniels, E.J. Liddell, Larry Nance Jr., Cody Zeller (via sign-and-trade) and two future first-round draft picks.
Murray, 28, averaged 22.5 points, 6.4 assists and 5.3 rebounds in 78 games for the Hawks last season. He started his career with five seasons in San Antonio before spending the last two in Atlanta.
New Orleans battles Indiana on Monday at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT, and Wednesday against the Raptors at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
