Free agent Jeff Dowtin Jr. agreed to a training camp deal to re-sign with the Toronto Raptors, the team announced Saturday.
The point guard will compete for an opening night roster spot during the Raptors' training camp in September. Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that there will be a significant salary guarantee if Dowtin Jr. makes the roster out of camp.
The 26-year-old just completed a one-year, two-way contract with the Raptors and split last season between the Raptors and Toronto's G League affiliate.
In 25 appearances for the Raptors last season, he averaged 2.4 points, 1.2 assists and 0.9 rebounds over 10.3 minutes per game.
Dowtin Jr. also appeared in 19 regular season games with Raptors 905, averaging 16.9 points, 5.9 assists and 4.2 rebounds.
In late May, he underwent successful ankle surgery and conducted a rehabilitation stint in Toronto.
The Raptors also announced that they re-signed forward Ron Harper Jr. to a two-way contract.
