Former Phoenix Suns head coach Earl Watson is finalizing a deal to join Nick Nurse’s staff with the Toronto Raptors, Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Haynes adds that Watson was pursued by several teams before choosing the Raptors.
Watson joined the Suns as an assistant in 2015-16 but was promoted to head coach midway through the season. His first game as head coach came against the Raptors on Feb. 6, 2016 and he coached the team for parts of three seasons before being fired early in the 2017-18 campaign.
