It is increasingly likely that Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball will undergo a third surgery on his injured right knee, keeping him out for another six months, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Thursday.
While no final decision has been made, Wojnarowski reported that the belief amongst the Bulls and Ball's camp is that a third surgery is likely necessary.
Ball was officially ruled out for the remainder of the season on Feb. 21, having not played since mid-January. He has already undergone two surgeries since.
Undergoing a third surgery could potentially force Ball to miss the beginning of the 2023-2024 season.
Ball averaged 13.0 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 35 games with the Bulls this season. He is in the second year of a four-year, $80-million contract.
