The James Harden drama in Houston may be bubbling over.
Harden has been involved in multiple verbal confrontations with Rockets teammates during practice over the past two days, according to The Athletic‘s Shams Charania. One such heated exchange culminated with Harden throwing a ball at rookie Jae’Sean Tate.
Some around the organization are reportedly viewing the recent events as “rising to an uncharacteristic level of frustration” for the normally laid-back Harden.

It’s not all bad news out of Rockets camp, though, with sources telling Charania that Harden has been “engaged and encouraging” with teammates during games, while also being vocal about strategy.
Houston has Harden under contract for at least two more seasons but the three-time scoring champ has requested a trade, with his desired landing spots being Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Miami or Milwaukee.
The Rockets are still not expressing any sort of urgency to deal their superstar. The team brought in John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins in the off-season as part of a roster re-tooling.
Harden and the Rockets begin their season Wednesday at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
