Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard is ahead of schedule in his rehab from a torn ACL and could return to action this season, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Haynes also reported that Leonard has increased his workload in recent weeks and is looking stronger.
The Clippers entered Thursday’s game with the Phoenix Suns with a 19-19 record, which has them eighth in the Western Conference. Multiple players told Haynes that they believe they can beat any team if they are fully healthy and aren’t worried about playoff seeding as a result.
The three-time Defensive Player of the Year averaged 24.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.6 steals last season.
