The Sacramento Kings have pulled out of talks with the Toronto Raptors regarding a potential trade for Pascal Siakam, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Charania reported earlier that discussions were heating up between the two teams ahead of their matchup on Friday night, with the Kings appearing to be a serious suitor, but notes that these situations are fluid and the two teams have decided not to pursue a deal.
The Raptors started retooling their roster with a blockbuster trade last weekend, sending OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa and Malachi Flynn to the New York Knicks for Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett and a second-round pick.
Like Anunoby, the six-foot-eight Siakam is eligible to become a free agent after this season.
"His willingness and his desire to re-sign as a free agent in July whether that's in Sacramento or another team he does get moved to, that's going to play a big part in this ... The team trying to get him is going to want to check in whether he will re-sign as a free agent," Charania said.
A two-time all-star, Siakam, 29, is averaging 22.4 points, 6.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists on 52.1-per-cent shooting from the field.
