Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis will remain out of the lineup until after the All-Star break with a calf strain, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
According to Wojnarowski, Davis will be re-evaluated in two-to-three weeks to determine when he can return. The NBA All-Star break is scheduled to run from March 5-10.
Davis re-aggravated his injury during Sunday’s loss to the Denver Nuggets. He had missed two games last week with an injury near his Achilles, which an MRI confirmed on Monday to be in the calf area, according to Wojnarowski. Wojnarowski added that the team is being “conservative” with his recovery.
The 27-year-old has seen his offensive numbers dip a little this season but he remains a dominant front-court player. In 23 games this season, Davis is averaging 22.5 points and 8.4 rebounds, both slightly below his career averages.
The Lakers have nine games remaining before the All-Star break and return to the court Tuesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT on SN Now+.
