The reigning G-League Coach of the Year, Lindsey Harding, is heading to the NBA.
According to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Harding has agreed on a deal to join the Los Angeles Lakers coaching staff as an assistant.
Harding served last season as the head coach of the Stockton Kings and has worked with Lakers head coach JJ Redick in the past, when they were part of the Philadelphia 76ers organization and when they starred at Duke University.
In 2023-24, Harding guided Stockton to a 24-10 record, the top mark in the entire G-League.
The 2007 WNBA first overall pick, Harding played nine years between the Minnesota Lynx, Washington Mystics, Atlanta Dream, Los Angeles Sparks, New York Liberty and Phoenix Mercury. She received MVP votes on two separate occasions and finished as the runner-up for Rookie of the Year in 2007.
She will now join Nate McMillan, Scott Brooks and Greg St. Jean as Reddick's assistant coaches.
Harding had previously served as an NBA assistant with the Sacramento Kings from 2019 to 2023.
