The Los Angeles Lakers are optimistic LeBron James will be able to return from his foot injury for the final few games of the season, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Thursday.
James has been out since Feb. 26 with a right foot tendon injury.
The Lakers said he is on a "gradual basketball movement progression" as he resumes on-court activity.
The four-time NBA MVP is averaging 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.9 assists this season.
The Lakers (36-37) are 10th in the Western Conference, a half-game up on the Utah Jazz and New Orleans Pelicans for the final spot in the play-in tournament.
