The Dallas Mavericks are acquiring Josh Richardson and the 36th pick in Wednesday’s draft from the Philadelphia 76ers for Seth Curry, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Mavericks proceeded to select forward Tyler Bey with the pick.
In Curry, the 76ers acquire an elite shooter, who boasts a career three-point field-goal percentage of 44.3 per cent — the second-highest in NBA history. The 30-year-old guard put up 12.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists on 49.5 per cent shooting from the field and 45.2 from three in 24.6 minutes with the Mavs last season.
Richardson, a 27-year-old guard, averaged 13.7 points with 2.9 assists and 0.9 steals in 30.8 minutes with the 76ers in 2019-20, while recording a 43 field-goal percentage and 34.1 per cent shooting from beyond the arc.
