Brooklyn Nets rising star Cam Thomas will hit the bench for three to four weeks with a left hamstring strain, ESPN insider Shams Charania reported Wednesday.
The 23-year-old suffered the injury while leading Brooklyn to back-to-back road victories on Sunday against the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors on Monday.
It's unfortunate timing for Thomas, who's found his stride as one of the more consistent scorers in the NBA so far this season.
In 17 games, he sits 14th in the league with 24.7 points per game on 46 per cent shooting from the field and 38.9 per cent from three-point range.
The Nets are 8-10 entering Wednesday's clash with the Phoenix Suns. Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.
