Former Raptors head coach Nick Nurse and current Raptors assistant coach Adrian Griffin are two of the three finalists for the Milwaukee Bucks' head coaching job, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Monday.
Wojnarowski says the Bucks have narrowed their search to their top candidates, a list that includes Nurse and Griffin, along with Golden State Warriors assistant coach Kenny Atkinson.
Milwaukee's head coaching job came available after the team announced the firing of Mike Budenholzer after a surprising Round 1 exit in the year's NBA Playoffs.
The Raptors fired Nurse on April 21 following a disappointing home loss to the Chicago Bulls in the NBA's play-in tournament.
Nurse registered a 237-170 record as Raptors head coach, guiding the team to its first and only championship title in 2018-19 after being promoted from his assistant coaching role following the firing of Dwane Casey..
Griffin has been an assistant for the Raptors since 2018. The former NBA player also has been an assistant for the Orlando Magic, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks and Oklahoma City Thunder.
Griffin and Nurse have both interviewed for a number of different head coaching vacancies.
Sportsnet's Michael Grange has reported that the Raptors are also considering Griffin for their head coaching job.
