Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan will meet with the two finalists for the team's head coaching job, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Jordan is slated to talk to veteran coach Mike D'Antoni and Golden State Warriors assistant Kenny Atkinson this week, Wojnarowski writes.
D'Antoni, who has been a head coach for 16 seasons, is a two-time NBA coach of the year. He most recently coached the Houston Rockets for four seasons from 2016-20, guiding the team to at least the second round of the playoffs each year.
Atkinson was head coach of the Brooklyn Nets for three seasons before resigning in 2020. He was an assistant with the Los Angeles Clippers last year before joining the Warriors.
Wojnarowski reports both candidates already have met with Hornets management twice.
The Hornets fired James Borrego in April after he missed the playoffs in each of his four seasons as coach
