A pair of former Toronto Raptors teammates are reportedly being traded for each other.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Detroit Pistons are trading guard Delon Wright to the Sacramento Kings for Canadian guard Cory Joseph and two second-round picks.
Wright and Joseph were teammates on the Raptors for two seasons from 2015-17 and the trade also reunites Joseph with head coach Dwane Casey, the former Toronto bench boss who now leads things in Detroit.
Wright, 28, was traded by the Raptors to Memphis in the 2019 Marc Gasol trade and has also played for Dallas and Detroit. This season with the Pistons, he’s averaging 10.5 points, 5.1 assists and 4.6 rebounds in 35 games.
Joseph, 29, is averaging 6.7 points and 2.4 assists in 43 games, mostly off the bench.
Wojnarowski reports that the picks going back to Detroit are the Lakers’ second-round pick in 2021 and the Kings’ own second-rounder in 2024.
