The Toronto Raptors are hiring Golden State Warriors assistant coach Jama Mahlalela and Washington Wizards assistant coach Pat Delany to be the top assistants on new head coach Darko Rajakovic's stuaff, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Mahlalela returns to the Raptors after starting his NBA career as a member of the team's community development staff in 2006. The former UBC Thunderbirds player went on to be an assistant coach with the Raptors as well as the coach of Raptors 905 in the G League.
The Warriors hired Mahlalela in 2021 as an assistant and he won an NBA title in his first year with the team.
Delany has been an assistant with the Wizards since 2021. Previously, he was an assistant with the Orlando Magic and Charlotte Hornets.
