The Toronto Raptors have signed undrafted guard Markquis Nowell to a two-way contract, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
The Harlem, New York native was a part of the Kansas State team that reached the Elite Eight during March Madness, where he set an NCAA tournament record for assists (19).
The five-foot-seven guard told the New York Post in the lead-up to the draft that he is on a mission to prove doubters wrong on his height.
“I use it as fuel, motivation to prove people who don’t believe in me wrong,” he said. “It’s another chapter in the book, it’s another story I have to write to make it to the NBA. I’m just happy that I even get to showcase my talents in front of scouts.”
The sophomore averaged 17.6 points and 8.3 assists for Kansas State in 2022-23.
