The Houston Rockets and Milwaukee Bucks have reportedly agreed to a trade that would send P.J. Tucker to Milwaukee, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
In addition to Tucker, the Rockets will be sending Rodions Kurucs and the Bucks’ 2022 first-round pick, which they had previously acquired, back to Milwaukee.
The Rockets are set to receive D.J. Augistin, D.J. Wilson and a 2023 unprotected first-round pick. Houston will also receive the rights to swap its 2021 second-round pick for Milwaukee’s 2021 first-round pick, unless that pick falls between No. 1 and 9 in the NBA draft.
Tucker, who came to the Rockets in 2017 as a free agent after stops with the Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors, quickly became a starter known for defending opposing teams’ top players. But his relationship with the organization has soured in recent months and, after sitting out against the Sacramento Kings last Thursday, reports surfaced he would not be returning to the team.
The 35-year-old is in the final season of a four-year, $32 million deal.
By dealing Tucker, the Rockets have now traded three members from their starting rotation last season. Houston previously sent Russell Westbrook to the Washington Wizards in exchange for John Wall in December, then traded James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets as part of a multi-team blockbuster trade in January.
