Los Angeles Clippers guard Russell Westbrook is expected to return to the court next, perhaps as early as Monday, after undergoing surgery to repair his fractured left hand earlier this month, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The 35-year-old broke his hand in a 140-115 win over the Washington Wizards on March 1. He suffered the injury while trying to steal the ball from Jordan Poole from behind.
Westbrook is averaging 11.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game on 45.2 per cent shooting from the field. Before the injury, he had appeared in all 58 of the Clippers' games this season.
Los Angeles has gone 5-5 in his absence, moving its record to 43-25 on the season, good for the fourth seed in the Western Conference.
The Clippers are scheduled to host the Indiana Pacers on Monday, and play on Wednesday in Philadelphia and Friday in Orlando.
