The scuffling Sacramento Kings are adding to their frontcourt depth.
Sacramento is close to signing a deal with free agent Jae Crowder, Shams Charania of ESPN reported on Tuesday.
Crowder, 34, appeared in 50 games for the Milwaukee Bucks last season and averaged 6.3 points in 23.1 minutes on a below-average 54.6 true shooting percentage.
The six-foot-six forward would be set for his 13th NBA season. He made consecutive Finals appearances with the Miami Heat in 2020 and the Phoenix Suns in 2021.
The Kings are 8-10 and are dealing with injuries to multiple forwards. Trey Lyles will be out at least three weeks with a right calf strain, and DeMar DeRozan has been ruled out for Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves with lower back inflammation, according to Charania.
Crowder is expected to be available against the Wolves on Wednesday to help fill the void left by Lyles and DeRozan's absence.
