Pascal Siakam, who has been the subject of trade rumours should the Raptors choose to rebuild, is reportedly keen on staying in Toronto and may not sign an extension with a team that trades for him according to TNT's Chris Haynes.
Siakam has had his name linked to teams like the Charlotte Hornets or Portland Trail Blazers, who respectively hold the second and third picks in this year's draft. He's also been linked to the Atlanta Hawks in a deal involving guard Dejounte Murray.
His contract is set to expire at the end of the 2023-2024 season, making him an attractive expiring player for the Raptors to send off for future assets. Though with less guarantee of an extension, other teams may not want to risk trading for Siakam for fear of him leaving via free agency next summer.
Siakam enjoyed another productive season in Toronto last year, averaging 24.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists while narrowly missing out on another All-NBA selection. He was named an All-Star for the second time in his career.
