Report: Suns trade Jusuf Nurkic to Hornets for Cody Martin, Vasilije Micic

The out-of-favour Jusuf Nurkic is on his way out of the Valley.

The Phoenix Suns have dealt Nurkic and a 2026 first-round pick to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for forward Cody Martin, guard Vasilije Micic and a 2026 second-round pick, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Thursday.

Nurkic had completely fallen out of the Suns' rotation in recent weeks and hasn't suited up for a game since Jan. 7. The 30-year-old Bosnian big man was averaging 8.6 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game before being shut down.

Phoenix acquired his services in the blockbuster Damian Lillard three-team deal. The Suns sent former first-overall pick Deandre Ayton to the Trail Blazers as part of the move.

Martin, 29, has averaged 7.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in 39 appearances with the Hornets this season. Micic, meanwhile, has averaged 7.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 36 games.

The first-round pick Phoenix traded to Charlotte was acquired in an earlier deal with the Utah Jazz.
