The Los Angeles Clippers are hoping to find some stability on the wing as questions of their depth and health loom ahead of the season.
In order to do that, the Clippers have signed Terance Mann to a three-year, $47 million extension keeping him with the franchise through the 2027-28 season, the team announced on Wednesday.
Mann, 27, was set to hit unrestricted free agency next summer after he signed a two-year contract extension in 2021.
Known for his all-around steady game, the wing averaged 8.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.6 steals per game last season while shooting 51.5 per cent from the field.
Normally an average three-point shooter, his conversion rate jumped from 34.8 per cent to 45.5 per cent from deep in the playoffs last season despite a first-round loss to the Dallas Mavericks.
The Brooklyn, N.Y., native was drafted by the Clippers in the second round as the 48th overall pick in 2019.
Los Angeles underwent a big change in the off-season, losing veteran wing Paul George to free agency. Duo partner Kawhi Leonard is also still dealing with a lingering knee injury that kept him off of Team USA for the Olympics.
