The Portland Trail Blazers are reportedly set to shut down superstar point guard Damian Lillard for the remainder of the season, according to Bleacher Report's Chris Haynes.
Lillard has been playing at an All-NBA level this year, averaging a career-high 32.2 points while tacking on 4.8 rebounds and 7.3 assists. His efficiency has also been solid, shooting 46.3 per cent from the field and 37.1 per cent from long range.
However, the seven-time All-Star has missed 17 games so far due to a variety of calf, wrist and ankle injuries. He has missed Portland's last three games due to a calf injury.
It's been a bounce-back year for the six-time All-NBA guard after being sidelined for all but 29 games last season with an abdominal injury.
The Trail Blazers currently sit as the 13th seed in the Western Conference with a record of 32-43. They're five games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder for the 10th seed and the final Play-In spot.
Their injury report is a long one, with the majority of their usual starting five out. Anfernee Simons (foot), Jusuf Nurkic (knee), Jerami Grant (quadriceps) and Lillard have all missed the last three games for the Blazers.
