Justin Champagnie has earned a full-time NBA shot.
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Washington Wizards are finalizing a four-year, $10 million deal with Champagnie to convert the 23-year-old from a two-way contract.
Champagnie has averaged 7.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.9 steals while shooting 50.4 per cent from the floor and 37.6 per cent from three through 40 games for Washington this season.
This is Champagnie's second season with the Wizards after landing with the organization on a 10-day contract last February before signing a two-way deal in March.
Champagnie originally broke into the NBA with the Toronto Raptors in 2021-22, and played his first 39 career games with the team.
Charania reports that Champagnie will make $1.8 million over the final six weeks of the season.
Washington currently has the worst record in the NBA at 11-48.
