LaVine and Brown are expected to miss a minimum of 10 days unless they record two negative tests in a 24-hour period.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Bulls need eight eligible players available for Tuesday’s game against the Detroit Pistons. At the moment, they have nine healthy players. He adds that if the Bulls outbreak continues, postponements could be an option.
The Bulls are scheduled to take on the Toronto Raptors on Thursday.
Chicago can also continue to sign extra players under the hardship waiver, a rule that allows teams to exceed the 15-man roster when at least four players are sick or injured for longer than two weeks. The Bulls have already exercised that option by signing Stanley Johnson, but he is now under health and safety protocols as well.
