The Sixers were happy to get Joel Embiid back for Game 3, but not informing the league of his impending return has come with a price.
On Saturday, the NBA fined the Sixers $50,000 for failing "to disclose center-forward Joel Embiid's participation status in an accurate and timely manner."
Embiid suffered an orbital fracture and concussion in Game 6 of Philadelphia's first-round playoffs series with the Toronto Raptors. The injury had kept him out of the first two games of the Sixers' second-round series with the Miami Heat.
There was a great deal of speculation about whether Embiid would play ahead of Friday night's game. He wound up collecting 18 points and 11 rebounds as the Sixers won, 99-79.
