Raptors 905, the Toronto Raptors G League affiliate, is set to tip-off its 15-game season on Feb. 10 down in the Orlando bubble where the conclusion to last year’s NBA campaign was held.
Sportsnet will be carrying five of those contests, with three of them premiering on Sportsnet ONE and all of them being available on Sportsnet NOW.
Feb. 12: Erie Bayhawks @ Raptors 905, 11 a.m. on Sportsnet ONE and Sportsnet NOW
Feb. 15: Santa Cruz Warriors @ Raptors 905, 7 p.m. on Sportsnet NOW
Feb. 17: Agua Caliente Clippers @ Raptors 905, 11:30 a.m. on Sportsnet ONE and Sportsnet NOW
Feb. 22: Memphis Hustle @ Raptors 905, 7:30 p.m. on Sportsnet NOW
March 1: Raptors 905 @ Canton Charge, 3:30 p.m. on Sportsnet ONE and Sportsnet NOW
The final game listed — 905 vs. the Canton Charge — may be one of particular interest, as Canton had the third-overall pick in this year’s G League draft, and with it took Antonio Blakeney, a 24-year-old guard who last played with the Chinese Basketball Association’s Jiangsu Dragons and averaged 34.8 points, eight rebounds and 3.4 assists on 50 per cent shooting.
The 905 will be one of 18 teams participating in the G League bubble, and the televised games will give fans — many of whom reside in Mississauga, Ont. where the team makes its home — an opportunity they may not have otherwise had to watch their club compete.
Along with Canadian Nik Stauskas, the former eighth-overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft who is attempting to reignite his NBA career, both of the Raptors’ rookies — Malachi Flynn and Jalen Harris — will be participating in the bubble following short stints and limited playing time with the parent club.
