The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without their steady veteran point guard as they look to get back to their winning ways.
Mike Conley has been ruled out for Game 5 of their second-round series against the Denver Nuggets with right Achilles soreness, the team announced Tuesday.
The series is currently tied at 2-2. Minnesota lost the two games on home court after winning the first two in Denver.
The 36-year-old guard has been a solid floor general for the Timberwolves so far this post-season, averaging 11.3 points, 3.8 assists and a team-leading 7.0 assists.
He was questionable coming into the game after he tweaked his legs in the final minutes of Game 4, landing awkwardly on it after taking a 3-pointer in the corner, head coach Chris Finch said. He tried to take part in pre-game warmups but was officially ruled out ahead of tip-off.
Taking his place in the starting lineup will be Toronto native Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who has made a name for himself in the series against the Nuggets after some impressive showings on defence against fellow Canadian Jamal Murray.
