The Toronto Raptors will be without sharpshooter Jamison Battle for their game against the Chicago Bulls on Monday.
The undrafted rookie sprained his left ankle on a hard fall while on assignment with Raptors 905 on Friday, and has been declared out on the NBA's injury report.
Battle, 23, has played in 24 of the NBA team's 26 games this season.
The six-foot-seven forward won the final two-way spot on the Raptors roster after putting on an outstanding shooting display at Las Vegas Summer League and during the pre-season. Battle shot nine-of-15 (60 per cent) from three-point range in summer league play and eight-of-14 (57.1 per cent) in the pre-season.
The Ohio State product is averaging 5.8 points and two rebounds while shooting 44 per cent on 3.1 three-point attempts per game.
The Raptors will miss Battle's shooting prowess against the Bulls, as they already attempt the second-fewest threes in the NBA and rank 23rd in three-point percentage.
Meanwhile, Raptors 905 confirmed their acquisition of ex-NBA centre Frank Kaminsky.
The seven-footer averaged 8.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and shot 34.9 per cent from three-point range over eight NBA seasons from 2015-23. He played for the Charlotte Hornets, Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks, and Houston Rockets.
Kaminsky, 31, was the ninth-overall selection in by the Hornets in the 2015 NBA Draft. He played last season with Partizan Mozzart Bet of the Basketball League of Serbia.
As a player with over four years of NBA experience, Kaminsky is not eligible for a two-way contract.
