TV special 'Kobe Bryant: Through the Years' airs Tuesday on Sportsnet

Sportsnet is honouring the life and legacy of Kobe Bryant, starting with a re-airing of his iconic, 81-point performance against the Toronto Raptors today at 5:30 p.m. ET on Sportsnet ONE. Our remembrance continues next week with a showing of his final game followed by the documentary, Kobe Bryant: Through The Years, on Jan. 26 starting at 5:30 p.m. ET on Sportsnet ONE.

On Jan. 26, 2020 the world lost an icon when Kobe Bryant, along with his daughter Gianna and seven others, tragically lost his life in a helicopter accident.

Exactly one year later, Bryant and his basketball legacy will be remembered in Kobe Bryant: Through the Years, an hour-long documentary special that takes a look back at Bryant’s spectacular 20-season NBA career.

You can watch the television special Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET on Sportsnet and Sportsnet ONE.

The documentary will feature interviews Gregg Downer, Bryant’s high school coach at Lower Merion High school, former Los Angeles Lakers teammates Derek Fisher and Brian Shaw and former Toronto Raptors coach Sam Mitchell — who, of course, spoke about the time Byrant torched his team for a historic 81 points.

Additionally, there will be plenty of archival footage featured throughout showing all aspects of his NBA career, from when he won the NBA slam dunk competition as a teenager, to him eventually becoming a five-time champion.
