The Golden State Warriors are creeping closer to full health.
Forward Jonathan Kuminga returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time since spraining his ankle on Jan. 4, the team announced.
Kuminga has missed 21 games in the interim, during which time the Warriors acquired Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat in a franchise-altering trade to pair with fellow stars Steph Curry and Draymond Green.
In 32 games this season, the 22-year-old Kuminga has scored 16.8 points per contest while grabbing five rebounds and dishing 2.2 assists. All three statistics either match or exceed his career bests.
"His return to action will be based on his continued progress and physical readiness," the team said.
Kuminga has spent all four of his NBA seasons with the Warriors after being selected seventh overall in the 2021 draft.
The Warriors return from the All-Star break on Friday with a visit to the Sacramento Kings before heading home to face the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday.
