The Golden State Warriors' season may be facing another dramatic turn.
Stephen Curry left Thursday's game against the Toronto Raptors after sustaining a pelvic contusion, the team announced.
During the third quarter, Curry drove the lane and collided with Toronto's Jonathan Mogbo while attempting a jump pass to the corner.
Curry appeared to fall hard and immediately clutched his backside before heading down the tunnel. He was ruled out shortly after.
Golden State has endured a roller-coaster season. It started 12-3, then stumbled down the standings, falling under .500 and suddenly finding itself simply fighting for a playoff spot.
The Warriors then traded for Jimmy Butler in a move that seemed to rejuvenate the team, which was back in sixth place in the Western Conference at 40-29 entering Thursday's game.
Now, the Warriors could be facing adversity again if they lose the face of their franchise for any significant stretch.
In 59 games this season, Curry was averaging 24.3 points, 6.1 assists and 4.4 rebounds while leading the NBA with 4.4 three-pointers made and 11.2 attempted per contest.
The Warriors return to action on Saturday on the road against the Atlanta Hawks.
