The NBA announced Friday they have suspended Joshua Primo for four games due to conduct detrimental to the league. Despite this, the Los Angeles Clippers are planning to sign Primo to a two-way deal, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
A psychologist who worked for the San Antonio Spurs filed a lawsuit last November alleging Primo, who played for the team at the time, had exposed himself to her multiple times in private sessions. The lawsuit was settled days later.
The NBA said they “found that Primo engaged in inappropriate and offensive behavior by exposing himself to women.
“Primo maintains that his conduct was not intentional, and the league did not find evidence that he engaged in any sexual or other misconduct apart from these brief exposures. Nevertheless, this behavior does not conform to league standards and warrants discipline.”
Primo, 20, hasn’t played in the NBA since the Spurs waived him on Oct. 28, 2022. The Toronto native will likely spend the upcoming season with the Clippers’ G League affiliate in Ontario, California.
Following the allegation, the former No. 12 overall pick released a statement to ESPN saying that he has “been seeking help to deal with previous trauma I suffered and will now take this time to focus on my mental health treatment more fully. I hope to be able to discuss these issues in the future so I can help others who have suffered in a similar way. I appreciate privacy at this time.”
