Raptors’ Fred VanVleet sidelined Saturday vs. Pacers with non-COVID illness

Toronto Raptors guard Fred VanVleet will not play in Saturday’s game against the Indiana Pacers because of a non-COVID illness.

VanVleet had 15 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals in 29 minutes during Friday’s 132-113 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder before he was pulled from the game due to illness.

The 28-year-old VanVleet has averaged 18.4 points, 6.8 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 10 games this season. He missed three games due to a lower back injury before returning to the lineup last Sunday.

Toronto will be without Pascal Siakam (right adductor strain), Precious Achiuwa (right ankle sprain) and Khem Birch (right knee soreness) due to injuries.

Watch as the Raptors (7-6) look to get back into the win column when they visit the Pacers (5-6) starting at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on Sportsnet ONE and SN NOW.
