The Toronto Raptors announced Friday evening that guard Gary Trent Jr. will miss the team’s game with the Brooklyn Nets due to left quad soreness.

In a corresponding move, the Raptors recalled Jeff Dowtin Jr. from the Raptors 905 of the G-League.

Trent Jr. has averaged 16.9 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game on 43 per cent shooting in 25 games for Toronto this season.

He joins O.G. Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa and Otto Porter Jr. on the inactive list for Friday’s game.

Dowtin Jr., meanwhile, has played in nine games with the Raptors this season and 12 with the 905. In the G-League he is averaging 20.6 points, 7.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

The Raptors are in the midst of a three-game losing streak that they will look to snap against the red-hot Nets.
