Report: 76ers adding Mo Bamba for depth behind Joel Embiid

The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to terms with free-agent centre Mo Bamba on a one-year contract, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Bamba was a free agent after being waived by the Los Angeles Lakers, voiding the $10.3 million contract he was owed next season.

The seven-foot centre split last season with the Magic and Lakers, but suffered an ankle injury in March that prevented him from contributing to the Lakers’ run to the Western Conference Final. In 49 games last season he averaged 6.6 points and 4.6 rebounds.

Bamba will slot behind reigning MVP Joel Embiid on the 76ers. Philadelphia is looking to improve on their 54-28 record last season and a third-consecutive loss in the Eastern Conference semifinal.
