Report: Clippers sign F Nicolas Batum to two-year, $9.6 million contract

The Clippers are starting to fill out the rest of their roster after losing out on superstar wing Paul George to free agency.

Los Angeles has signed forward Nicolas Batum to a two-year, $9.6 million contract, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Monday.

Batum, 35, actually started last season as a member of the Clippers but was sent to the Philadelphia 76ers as part of the blockbuster trade that netted L.A. James Harden.

The Lisieux, France native showed signs of slowing down last season, averaging a career-low in points with 5.3 per game but still kept it steady in other areas, tallying 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 60 games.

He was a solid contributor in the playoffs for Philly, putting up 16 points on 3-for-4 from 3-point range in Game 6 of the first round series against the New York Knicks.

The 16-year NBA vet has also played for the Portland Trail Blazers and Charlotte Hornets throughout his career. He spent three full seasons with the Clippers before the trade in 2023, averaging 7.4 points 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists while hitting 39.8 per cent of his 3-pointers.
