The Georgian big man is staying put in Orlando.
Goga Bitadze has reportedly agreed to a three-year, $25 million deal with the Magic, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Bitadze, 24, is coming off his second season with Orlando after signing with the team in 2022. He was originally drafted 18th overall in 2019 by the Indiana Pacers.
In 2023-24, the six-foot-11 forward averaged five points and 4.6 rebounds while shooting 60.3 per cent from the field and racking up 1.2 blocks through 62 games.
He’s proven as a serviceable depth forward who can slot in when given increased minutes and handle rebounding and rim-protection duties.
Through 249 career games, Bitadze has averaged 4.9 points and 3.4 rebounds, but the per 36 numbers offer promise. His career per 36 averages are 13.9 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocks.
Bitadze will help the Magic take another step forward after the pair of Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner led them to 47 wins in 2023-24 and their first playoff appearance in four seasons.
Orlando also signed veteran two-guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope on Sunday.
