Report: Marc Gasol’s deal with Lakers worth $5.3M over two years

Marc Gasol’s officially signed his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.

According to The Athletic‘s Shams Charania, the deal is worth $5.4 million over two years.

Gasol’s two-year deal with the Lakers was first reported on Sunday, however financial terms were not known at the time.

The 35-year-old Spaniard joins a Lakers team that has been busy in the early days of NBA free agency, adding reigning Sixth Man of the Year Montrezl Harrell and Wesley Matthews while re-signing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Markieff Morris.

A three-time All-Star and 2012-13 Defensive Player of the Year, Gasol played a crucial role in the Toronto Raptors‘ first-ever NBA championship in 2019. However, in 44 games last season with the Raptors, he averaged a career-low 7.5 points and 6.3 rebounds.
