Detroit Pistons centre Jalen Duren is expected to miss two weeks with a left ankle sprain, as reported by the Athletic’s Shams Charania on Thursday.
Duren suffered the injury late in the Pistons 116-102 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.
If 18 consecutive losses weren’t tough enough for Detroit, they’ll now have to manage without their starting big man who had taken a step forward this year. In his second season, Duren has shown an uptick across the board, averaging 12.6 points on 63 per cent shooting, 10.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 29 minutes of action a game.
This will be Duren’s second injury of the season as the 20-year-old big man sat out six games already with a right ankle injury.
The 2-19 and now “Duren-less” Pistons will return to action on Friday when they take on the Orlando Magic.
