Report: Suns Big 3 to make regular-season debut vs. Timberwolves

The star trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal are set to play together for the first time this season on Wednesday night as they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves, as reported by the Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Phoenix was considered by many as a title favourite following the off-season acquisition of three-time all-star guard Beal, to pair with Durant and Booker, but those expectations quickly tempered due to the team’s slow start.

However, the Suns’ 4-6 record is hard to read into considering their three best players haven’t suited up together to this point.

Beal didn’t make his debut for Phoenix until the squad’s eighth game of the season, against the Chicago Bulls, due to a back injury, but has since played in all three contests. Booker was out on the court for the season-opener versus the Golden State Warriors, but has missed eight of the team’s last nine games with a calf strain.

Meanwhile, Durant has been the only constant out of the three as he’s played in all 10 of their games, averaging 30 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in nearly 37 minutes a night.

Having lost two games in a row, the added firepower of having their three leading scorers on the floor together will come in handy for the Suns as they’ll tip off against an 8-2 Timberwolves squad that boasts the league’s best defence (101.9 defensive rating).
