Report: Warriors sign F Kevin Knox, former lottery pick, to one-year deal

Kevin Knox’s latest NBA opportunity appears to be in the Bay Area.

The Golden State Warriors have reportedly signed the former first-round pick to a one-year deal according to The Atheltic’s Shams Charania on Wednesday.

Knox, 25, was originally selected ninth overall by the New York Knicks in 2018. His rookie campaign was his most productive, as the forward averaged 12.8 points and 4.5 rebounds on 34.3 per cent shooting from distance through 75 games.

Since then, his numbers and minutes have steadily decreased and in the 2023-24 season he made 31 appearances for the Detroit Pistons and averaged 7.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 18 minutes a game.

The Phoenix native holds career averages of 7.4 points and 2.9 rebounds through 306 games played with the Knicks, Pistons, Atlanta Hawks and Portland Trailblazers.

According to Charania, the six-year veteran will be competing for a rotation spot with the Warriors throughout training camp.

Knox played for Golden State throughout summer league, notably dropping a game-high 31 points and 11 rebounds against the Miami Heat in the tournament’s semifinals.
