Just days after we saw Joel Embiid score 70 and Karl Anthony-Towns score 62, NBA fans were treated to yet another offensive masterclass on Friday — this time, from Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic and Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker.
Smashing the Mavericks’ previous record of 60, Doncic finished with 73 points against the Atlanta Hawks, tied for fourth-most points in NBA history, behind only Wilt Chamberlain (100 in one game, 78 in another) and Kobe Bryant (81).
The Mavs went on to beat the Hawks, the team that drafted Doncic, 148-143.
Devin Booker was also flexing his shooting arm on Friday night, going for 62 points, though the Suns fell 133-131 to the Indiana Pacers after the Suns star missed a three at the buzzer. Booker did break his personal record of points in a quarter, having notched 29 in the first 12 minutes.
This was the second time this week and just the fifth time in league history that multiple players have recorded at least 60 points on the same day.
