Three quarterfinals are scheduled to be played over the next two days in the College Football Playoff.
Here's a capsule look at the three remaining quarterfinals, along with the BetMGM lines (as of Monday).
No. 5 Texas (12-2) vs. No. 4 Arizona State (11-2) in Peach Bowl, Wednesday, 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT in Atlanta
Arizona State was picked to finish last in the Big 12, but clearly didn't listen to the prognosticators. The Sun Devils crushed Iowa State 45-19 in the conference final and then got a top-four seed thanks to Clemson's win over SMU in the ACC final.
Texas was in the running for the top seed in the tournament before losing 22-19 in overtime to Georgia in the SEC final. The Longhorns raced out to a big lead in the first half and then easily held on for a 38-24 win over Clemson in the first round of the CFP.
Recent history
Texas has improved every year since Steve Sarkisian took over in 2021. Last year, the Longhorns lost to Washington in a national semifinal.
Arizona State made a huge jump in its second year under 34-year-old coach Kenny Dillingham, whose team finished 3-9 in 2023. Dillingham was previously offensive co-ordinator at Oregon. The Sun Devils are making their first playoff appearance.
The quarterbacks
Arizona State redshirt freshman Sam Leavitt missed one of the team's two losses, so he's very familiar with winning. After transferring from Michigan State, Leavitt was named the second-team Big 12 quarterback this season.
Texas junior Quinn Ewers is expected to declare for the NFL Draft and figures to be a top-five QB. He threw for 202 yards, one touchdown and one interception against Clemson.
Players to watch
Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo averaged six yards per carry and scored 22 total touchdowns.
Texas left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. is expected to be an early first-round pick next year. He won the Outland Trophy as the best interior lineman in college football.
BetMGM line
Texas is favoured by 12.5 points.
No. 8 Ohio State (11-2) vs. No. 1 Oregon (13-0) in Rose Bowl, Wednesday, 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT in Pasadena, Calif.
Oregon was the lone unbeaten team in the country this season. The Ducks' closest call was an October home game against Ohio State when Oregon emerged with a 32-31 victory. The game wasn't decided until Ohio State QB Will Howard slid on a scramble as time ran out on a play in Oregon territory.
Ohio State bounced back from a stunning home loss to bitter rival Michigan in its season finale with a 42-17 thumping of Tennessee in the first playoff round. The Buckeyes entered the game under intense local heat, much of it directed at coach Ryan Day following the team's fourth consecutive loss to Michigan.
Recent history
Oregon is in the playoff for the first time since qualifying for the inaugural 2014 edition. The Ducks lost in the final that season against Ohio State. Oregon has lost just five games under third-year coach Dan Lanning.
Ohio State is in the playoff for the fourth time under Day since he took over in 2019, but he hasn't lifted the championship title yet.
The quarterbacks
Oregon senior Dillon Gabriel finished third in Heisman Trophy voting after transferring from Oklahoma for this season. Before two years at Oklahoma, he started his college career at Central Florida.
Ohio State's Howard transferred from Kansas State after four seasons. He was 24-for-29 for 311 yards with two touchdowns and one interception against Tennessee.
Players to watch
Ohio State freshman receiver Jeremiah Smith had six receptions for 103 yards and two touchdowns against Tennessee.
Oregon defensive lineman Derrick Harmon is projected to go in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The six-foot-five, 310-pounder transferred from Michigan State prior to this season.
BetMGM line
Ohio State is favoured by 2.5 points.
No. 7 Notre Dame (12-1) vs. No. 2 Georgia (11-2) in Sugar Bowl, Thursday, time TBA in New Orleans
The game has been postponed a day following a terror attack in New Orleans.
Georgia earned a first-round bye with a win over Texas in the SEC final, but it came with a heavy price. Star quarterback Carson Beck suffered a season-ending injury in the first half, leaving little-used Gunner Stockton to guide the team the rest of the way.
Notre Dame had little trouble with upstart Indiana in the opening round, winning 27-17 in a game that was not nearly as close as the final score. The Fighting Irish have won 11 in a row since a stunning home loss to Northern Illinois in the second game of the season.
Recent history
Georgia won back-to-back national titles in 2021 and '22 under coach Kirby Smart before missing the four-team playoff last year in a one-loss season.
Notre Dame made playoff appearances in 2018 and '20, but lost in the semifinals both times. Marcus Freeman is in his third year as coach, with the Fighting Irish winning non-CFP bowl games the last two years.
The quarterbacks
Redshirt sophomore Stockton was 12-of-16 for 71 yards and an interception in the second half and overtime of the SEC final. He threw just 16 passes before that this season in mop-up duty.
Notre Dame dual-threat senior Riley Leonard threw for one touchdown and ran for another against Indiana. He transferred from Duke for his final season.
Players to watch
Georgia defensive end Mykel Williams is expected to be picked in the first round of next year's NFL Draft. He had five sacks and two forced fumbles this year. Williams is part of a pass rush tandem with linebacker Jalon Walker, also a projected first-rounder.
Notre Dame star safety Xavier Watts intercepted a pass from Canadian QB Kurtis Rourke and made 10 tackles against Indiana. He's a two-time all-American.
BetMGM line
Georgia is favoured by 1.5 points.
