It's official, the top seeds in both conferences are now set in stone as the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens walked away with dominant wins over the Washington Commanders and Miami Dolphins respectively on Sunday.
The 49ers come through with a safe win in Washington, taking down the Commanders 27-10 behind a steady 230-yard and two-touchdown performance from QB Brock Purdy, making up for a rough showing in Week 16 against the Ravens.
However, their seeding wasn't secure until the Philadelphia Eagles, who they were tied with at 11-4 going into the week, lost an upset to the Arizona Cardinals 35-31.
San Francisco held the tiebreaker over the Eagles, so they would've still gone into Week 18 as the No. 1 had Philadelphia won.
Baltimore, meanwhile, absolutely demolished the Miami Dolphins in the battle between the two AFC powerhouses. QB Lamar Jackson cemented his case for the MVP in the dominant 56-19 win, throwing for 321 yards and five touchdowns.
The Dolphins were the one team competing with them for the top spot in the conference as they came into the week with an 11-4 record, one game behind Baltimore who sat at 12-3.
Securing the top seed in the conference means that both teams will get a bye for the first week of the playoffs and home-field advantage throughout the conference playoffs.
